Music Center
About
The First Note
After having sung on a praise and worship team, I started teaching piano at community centers and after school programs in the Newport area in 2003. When I worked at the after school program, I had so many children on the list waiting to learn that I decided to start a school. We are in the process of building three rehearsal rooms and two practice rooms, which will be available for rental. We will be holding classes there.
Teach In Harmony
We teach the children how to make constructive use of their time by developing expertise in the arts and engaging in sustained practice. Music instills values and skills which students will use throughout their lives. Students who study music have better reading math, and spatial awareness skills.
The Future Sounds Good
Besides being a place where children can learn how to to play an instrument and develop their talent, children will develop character and be able to attend the college or university of their choice. They will be able to better compete in the global economy and find creative solutions to their problems and some of the world's problems.
